Scripture Post #1,755: *GOD'S KINDLED ANGER*

Exodus 4:

13 And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whomthou wilt send.

14 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.

After being told to free the Israelite people from Egypt's bondage, Moses basically said to GOD: "Send someone else to deliver your people, besides me." And boy, did this upset the LORD! But GOD comforted Moses, telling him that Aaron, his older brother, would speak for him. This motivated Moses to do what GOD had said. Moses' speech impediment was now no longer a concern of his. Aaron acted as Moses' mouth since Moses's speech wasn't the best. And Moses acted as an in-between to GOD: so GOD would talk to Moses, directly, and Moses would then tell the people what "thus saith the LORD." (Ex. 4:16: "And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.")

Ex. 4:13: "And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send."

Verse 14: "And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart."

V. 15: "And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do."

V. 16: "And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God."

V. 17: "And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs."
