Scripture Post #1,833: *WE'll ALWAYS NEED GOD*
Exodus 15:
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
Moses led the Israelite people out of the oppressive land of Egypt. So everything's good now, right? Wrong. *WE'll ALWAYS NEED GOD*! When He delivers you from one problem, here comes another. Why? To show off His excellency!! To demonstrate His sovereignty!! To reassure your faith in His ability!! After they were free from the Egyptians, the Israelites faced yet another problem: thirst. They needed GOD to supply water for them. After 3 days of traveling and finding no water, anywhere, the Israelites found water in a land called Marah. But Marah's waters were bitter. So GOD showed the Israelites how badly they needed Him. How they had to solely rely on Him for every next step. You're not getting water without Me — the thing you need to live — this was GOD's thinking. So Moses cried to GOD, GOD made the waters sweet, and everybody drank and was made well. And *then* — pay attention, now — and then, GOD basically said: "Would you like me to continue to provide for you like this? Obey me. Do as I'd like for you to do. Am I your GOD or not? I'll prevent the diseases of Egypt from finding their way to you and I'll heal you if you'll submit to Me."
Summary: Rely on GOD for everything. And adhere fully to His agenda, disregarding your own, and watch GOD go to work in your life!
