John 6:66: "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."

Context:
John 6:60: "Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?"
V. 66: "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."
*MANY STOPPED FOLLOWING JESUS* because JESUS basically said that in HIM was eternal life and no one would see the FATHER unless they partook in HIM by eating HIS flesh and drinking HIS blood. (John 6:53: "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.")
That's why it was such a hard saying and why many of CHRIST's followers left HIS side. It probably sounded crazy to them! But if GOD is GOD and JESUS is LORD it shouldn't matter how crazy it sounds to our natural thinking: when the LORD speaks we should obey—regardless!
This was Peter's mindset, for Peter was confident that JESUS was the CHRIST and he believed all of HIS words, no matter how they sounded:
John 6:66: "From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him."
V. 67: "Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?"
V. 68: "Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life."
V. 69: "And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God."
JESUS is LORD regardless of what anyone else has to say.
