Scripture Post #513: *GOD AND MAMMON*

Luke 16:13: "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

Mammon basically means riches or material wealth.
Luke 18:24: "And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!"
V. 25: "For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
V. 26: "And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?"
V. 27: "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

We serve the LORD only. Our GOD's a JEALOUS GOD.
Ex. 34:14: "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:"
Ex. 20:3: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
V. 4: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
V. 5: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"
V. 6: "And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments."
