Scripture Post #241: *JESUS TAUGHT WITH AUTHORITY*

Mark 1:22: "And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes."

After JESUS gathered some of HIS Disciples (in verses 16-20), this happened: 

V. 21: "And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught."

V. 22: "And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes."

You know(?), I can't sit through a "Jesus" movie without gettin' irked. 1st off, they always make HIM have *long hair*. And JESUS never had long hair. (I'll explain why after my point is made.) 2ndly, they always make HIM *soft* and *soft-spoken*. This Scripture states that JESUS spoke with authority! You can't be soft and speak with authority! Come on, now! Ask a Drill Sergeant of the Army if you can have authority and be soft-spoken and mellow at the same time. Ask a Cop how he/she takes authority of a criminal suspect that he/she subdues. Does he/she quietly ask the suspect to please put the cuffs on? 

*Please, let's stop lettin' T.V. tell us how JESUS was; and get in a relationship with HIM to find out how JESUS really is!*

Why JESUS did not have long hair:

JESUS was a Jew, and Jews did not wear their hair long. Painters, knowingly or unknowingly chose to depict JESUS with long hair. Because many in whom I believe were homosexual. (1st Cor. 11:14: "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?"

Verse 15: "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.") JESUS wouldn't/didn't contradict this Scripture. For a kingdom divided against itself will fall: Matt. 12:25: "And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:"

Please know that my meaning is not that JESUS is like a Drill Sergeant waiting to scream at you. Or a Cop waiting to cuff you. My meaning is that JESUS had/has authority. And that authority has a certain level of seriousness about it.
