Scripture Post #1,219: *TO KNOW HIM*

1st John 2:

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

To know GOD we must be obedient to Him. We cannot claim to know GOD while disobeying Him. We can be easily assured that we know GOD by keeping His commandments. We ought to be uncomfortable in our disobedience to GOD. We should only feel we know Him when we're *being* who He has called us to be. 

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" ~1 Peter 2:9.
