Scripture Post #2,221: *DAUGHTERS OF MOAB*

 

Numbers 25:1:

“And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.”

It wasn’t that the Moabite people couldn’t be with the Israelite people that GOD had a problem with. Moses’ wife was not Hebrew, but Ethiopian, after all. It was that, at that time (Moses’ era) the Israelites were pretty much the only ones living for GOD. All other nations, for the most part, refused GOD and His ways. And the Moabites caused the Israelites to go after another god—a false-god. This infuriated the LORD, as you’ll discover in the following verses.
