Scripture Post #1,210: *DEAD TO SINS*

1st Peter 2:24: 

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

JESUS bore our sins in his own Body, on the cross, so that we could be *DEAD TO SINS* and alive unto righteousness. In order to be free from sin we must die to sin. We must die the very death CHRIST died—we must die *in* Him. To be in CHRIST is to be in Him now, then and forevermore. Once we're in Him, we're in Him. We're in His death that took His life and our sins away. We're in His life where freedom & righteousness awaits us. 

Crucified *with* CHRIST:

Gal. 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
