Scripture Post #1,206: *BE LIKE JESUS*

1st Peter 2:

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 

22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

CHRIST is our example. And we (Christians) should desire to be like Him. JESUS "…did no sin…" (~1st Peter 2:22.) And if we're following His steps, we shouldn't sin either. If we sin, GOD doesn't kick us out of HIS family. GOD wants us to get right with Him and be like His Son, JESUS. 1st Peter 2:21-22 states to be like JESUS, Who did no sin. And Matt. 5:48 states to be like GOD, Who is perfect. If you don't *believe* you can live a sin-free life, you never will. If you keep making mistakes and saying to yourself, "Well, nobody's perfect."—in order to make yourself feel better—then, that's exactly what you'll have: imperfection. JESUS wasn't just powerful enough to die for your sins, He's powerful enough to keep you from sinning! *BE LIKE JESUS*. 

"…For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…" ~Proverbs 23:7. 

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." ~Matthew 5:48.
