Scripture Post #1,189: *OFFERINGS RECEIVED*

Acts 28:10:

"Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary."

After his shipwreck, the Apostle Paul settled upon an island where he healed those who were sick, through the power of GOD. After these miracles were done, the islanders gave Paul offerings.

It's often looked on as wrong if a pastor or a preacher receives offerings from the people whom they've helped. Where else are the provisions going to come from, if not from the people? The world isn't going to give to the Church. They don't support the Church. So they certainly won't support the Church financially. We shouldn't grit on Christian ministries that receive donations. GOD uses people to support His Church; He doesn't pour down money from the Heavenly skies above. Paul didn't reject the islander's offerings. Paul received it. Because it was honorable and necessary, as Acts 28:10 states. It's not wrong for GOD's ministers to receive offerings—it's necessary.

1st Cor. 9:11: "If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?"

1st Cor. 9:7: "…Who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?"
