Scripture Post #1,891: *I’LL HEAR ABOUT IT*
Exodus 22:
22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
GOD gave Moses this law to give to the Israelites. What’s beautiful about this particular law is how GOD states that He’ll come to the fatherless and widow’s aid/defense, if they cry out unto Him.
The widow and fatherless hold a very special place in the heart of GOD: “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” ~James 1:27.
The man is vital to the family’s structure. He is the head. He is the leader. He is the chief of his tribe. When the father’s absent, the family is faced with a deficit, the family’s missing structure, the family suffers. Man and women are needed before and after the baby-making-process. It takes male and female to make as well as raise a family, properly. There are certain things only a man can bring to the table as far as the family is concerned.
There are many single mothers doing the best they can. And GOD feels for them, dearly. However, GOD’s structure is GOD’s structure. Circumstances, predicaments, unwelcoming-scenarios, etc., don’t change GOD’s structure for the family. He still desires the father present in the family home.
Eph. 5:22: “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”
Verse 23: “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
Verse 24: “Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.”
Verse 33: “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”
1st Cor. 11:3: “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”
V. 8: “For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.”
V. 9: “Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.”
“Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” ~1st Peter 3:7.
