Scripture Post #810: *SEARED CONSCIENCE*
1st Timothy 4:
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).
The conscience gives distinction between right and wrong. To not be able to tell the difference between what's right and what's wrong, is to have a *SEARED CONSCIENCE*. "…In the latter times…", or in the end times, "…some shall depart from the faith…" This means that Christians will forsake their Christianity, "…having their conscience seared with a hot iron…" They'll speak "…lies in hypocrisy…" That sounds like the person who (*lying*) says they're saved, and *hypocritically* behaves otherwise, then, when reproved for their ungodliness, refuses to take heed to correction, because they don't see that they've done anything wrong, because they can't see they've done anything wrong, because their conscience has been "…seared with a hot iron…" We have this going on today and it's alarming! Maybe to a smaller degree than what Apostle Paul wrote of, but clearly to some degree!
