Scripture Post #714: *SATAN HINDERED US*

1st Thessalonians 2:18: "Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us."

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the Church of the Thessalonians (1st Thess. 1:1).

Apostle Paul and those with him greatly desired to see the Thessalonians after being absent from them, but Satan hindered them from reuniting. Oftentimes, when things don't work out as planned, or things go wrong, people blame the sour situation on GOD—as if HE caused it. Paul desired something and he couldn't do as he desired. So Paul was smart enough to know that it was Satan who foiled his plans—not GOD.

GOD is love!
(1st John 4:16: "And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.")
Satan is a thief and murderer!
(John 10:10: "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.")
So out of the 2, who is it that causes the wrong that's in the world? Satan, of course! I get really irked when I hear people *blame* GOD for the trouble in their lives—as if the Devil doesn't exist! "Oh, Satan, noooo. He couldn't've done it." Yes he could have! He's evil! I know the earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, so it can be extremely easy to look to Heaven and go, "Whyyyy!!!" But the blame isn't GOD's.
JESUS said we'd have tribulation, but to be of good cheer because HE's overcome the world.
(John 16:33: "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.")
Greater is HE that is in us than he that is in the world!
(1st John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.")

No one's exempt from the rough patches life presents. Satan is after each and every one of us and he'll even fool some of us into believing it's GOD WHO's bringing us pain and sorrow. Let's not be so eager in focussing on the tough times we have. Because in doing so, we can overlook all the good the LORD has blessed us with. We must know that it's GOD who loves us and desires to bless us. And our troubles come from our enemy who detests us.
