Scripture Post #687: *HE WROTE OF ME*

John 5:
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

JESUS spoke these words to the Pharisees.

If the Pharisees had been following after Scripture and abiding therein, they would've known that Moses wrote of JESUS. If they were really obedient to GOD, they would've conducted themselves after HIS WORD, found in the Scriptures. And in doing so, they would've conducted themselves after CHRIST—for JESUS is the WORD of GOD: John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
V. 14: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." Therefore, the Pharisees had no right/reason to disagree with JESUS and deny that HE was the Messiah: for they didn't even believe what they claimed they believed (the writings of Moses). So they certainly weren't going to believe CHRIST!
