Scripture Post #516: *WALK NOT AS OTHERS*

Ephesians 4:
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul to the Saints of Ephesus (Eph. 1:1).

"…Henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk…" We don't carry ourselves as unbelievers. We have GOD, we don't walk as if we don't. JESUS is the Light of the world. We walk after Light, not darkness. Verse 18 describes those without GOD as follows: "Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:" Those without GOD have their understanding darkened and blind hearts. That's why V. 17's basically saying: "Don't walk like these folks. Don't walk after the world."

John 8:12: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

1st John 2:15: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
V. 16: "For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
V. 17: "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
