Scripture Post #510: *WIND OF DOCTRINE*

Ephesians 4:14: "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul to the Saints of Ephesus (Eph. 1:1).

We won't be tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine. Because we have The 5 Fold Ministry mentioned just in the verses prior. This Scripture flows right in line with those before it, and for proper context you'll need those previous verses. 

(Eph. 4:11: "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;"

V. 12: "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"

V. 13: "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:")

The *WIND OF DOCTRINE* is the deceptive doctrine of men. False religions originate from man or devils. Pure religion (Christianity: James 1:27) originates from GOD. 

James 1:27: "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."

1st Tim. 4:1: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"

V. 2: "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"

Before jumping on board with anything that calls itself true, that calls itself "God," that calls itself official, make sure to prove that thing. This avoids deception. 

1st Thess. 5:21: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."

1st John 4:1: "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."

GOD has proven HIMSELF to be real to me, which is why I follow HIM. I only follow that which is proven.
