Scripture Post #422: *HIERS TO THE PROMISE*

Galatians 3:29: "And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and all the brethren which were with him, unto the Churches of Galatia (Gal. 1:1-2).

JESUS CHRIST is Abraham's Seed. (Galatians 3:16: "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.") Because when GOD made Abraham the promise HE said "seed" not "seeds". Which is why Gal. 3:29 states, "…If ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." Our faith in CHRIST makes us HIS; and we being HIS are heirs according to the promise! And this is the promise:

Gen. 13:14: "And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:"

V. 15: "For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever."

V. 16: "And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered."

"…If a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered." Notice the word "seed" used here instead of "seeds". So how can 1 seed be multiplied so much that it's likened to the dust of the earth? Faith in JESUS. All who believe in JESUS are likened to the dust of the earth, and the stars of the sky. 

(Gen. 26:4: "And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;")
