Scripture Post #414: *REASON FOR THE LAW*

Galatians 3:

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and all the brethren which were with him, unto the Churches of Galatia (Gal. 1:1-2).

The *REASON FOR THE LAW* was for the Law to be a "schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster." "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth." - Rom. 10:4. 

In other words: 

GOD spoke a promise to Abraham and his SEED. But until Abraham's SEED arrived (Abraham's SEED being JESUS), GOD brought forth the Law unto HIS people for them to abide by. (The Law being a Schoolmaster.) But once Abraham's SEED (JESUS CHRIST) accomplished HIS mission on earth (death, burial and resurrection), the Law was/is no more necessary! Because JESUS CHRIST fulfilled it! Hallelujah!! (The words of CHRIST: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." - Matt. 5:17.)

Summary: 

The whole reason for the Law was to bring us to CHRIST! And once brought to CHRIST the Law is needed no more. Because CHRIST is sufficient—CHRIST fulfilled the Law!
