Scripture Post #248: SHAME/GLORY explains why JESUS never looked like this.
This Scripture states that JESUS was moved with compassion because the people "…were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he [JESUS] began to teach them many things." (Brackets added to bring distinction.) JESUS taught those gathered to HIM many things, shepherding them! (That's what shepherds do; they teach.) To shepherd a flock, congregation, group of people, etc., is to teach them, show them the way, grow them, better them, etc. This Scripture brings clarity as to why we have Church: we go to Church to be shepherded by our Pastor. The Pastor is the shepherd of the Church. He tends to his flock with the Spiritual Hand of GOD!
