Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Sosthenes, unto the Church at Corinth (1st Cor. 1:1-2).

Further Context:
1st Cor. 10:31: "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
V. 32: "Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:"
V. 33: "Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved."

Now, pleasing men in this Scripture, doesn't mean: being a people-pleaser. In the sense where, you just don't like confrontation, and/or you don't want anyone upset, ever. So you please people to keep 'em happy at whatever cost. No! Especially when it comes to peer-pressure! You don't smoke weed to please others; because they want you to, and it'll make them happy! That's not the meaning of this Scripture. We please others in the sense that, we don't seek our own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved! Salvation is our goal here; we want all men to experience GOD's goodness, just as we have!

"…Not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved."
