Scripture Post #236: *EARTH THE LORD'S*

1st Corinthians 10:26: "For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof."

Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Sosthenes, unto the Church at Corinth (1st Cor. 1:1-2).

Further Context: 

1st Cor. 10:25: "Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:"

V. 26: "For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof."

Easy-to-Read Version (ERV):

V. 25: "Eat any meat that is sold in the meat market. Don’t ask questions about it to see if it is something you think is wrong to eat."

V. 26: "You can eat it, 'because the earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.'"

Verses 25 and 26 are in relation to V. 20. Because in V. 20 it states that some meats are offered to idols. Which is why verse 25 basically means that you can eat meat without pondering about whether or not it's offered unto idols. Because the earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof! Just because some offer meat unto idols, doesn't mean we should all be vegetarians. If you would like to be a vegetarian, do so. But not because some abuse what GOD set for a different purpose. It's the LORD's earth!

V. 20: "But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils."
