Numbers 24:20:

“And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.”

Balaam, the Prophet, and Balak, the King of the Moabite people, had a discussion at a certain location that overlooked several nations of many people. One of those nations of people were the Amalekites. Numbers 24:20 let’s us in on some history. It states that the nation of Amalek was the very first nation to ever exist! Israel’s existence came to be via Israel’s 12 sons, which were made tribes, which composed the Israelite nation. This is just one way a nation of people can be formed, or come to be. Scripture states that although Amalek was the first nation to be, that their end would be that they perish forever!! Wow!! Could you imagine an entire people-group extinct?! What if there were no more African people? Or Asians? Or Latinos? Or Native-Americans? We may never know what the Amalekite people looked like. They could’ve had very profound and distinctive features that today’s world will never know of!
