Scripture Post #2,209: *NOT TAKE HEED?*
Numbers 23:
11 And Balak said unto Balaam, What hast thou done unto me? I took thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast blessed them altogether.
12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD hath put in my mouth?
There was a certain Moabite King who feared the threat Israel posed during the days of Moses’s leadership over the Israelites in the wilderness. This King’s name was Balak. And he was so afraid that he sent for a Prophet to prophesy a negative report over GOD’s people, the Israelites. He knew that if this Prophet said it, whatever it may be, that it would come to pass. This gifted Prophet’s name was Balaam.
But when Balaam was summoned to prophesy a negative report against the Israelites before the Moabite King, he did just the opposite! This brings us to Numbers chapter twenty-three verses eleven and twelve. Balaam’s like: “Dude! What’re ya doin’ to me, here?!? I brought you all the way up here to curse this threat for me. And you sit up here and perform the antipode of my request??” And Balaam’s real chill like 😌: “Should I not say what God put in my mouth to speak?” I love it! Hahaha! 😂Dude, I absolutely love it! 😍
