Scripture Post #2,175: *AARON’S BUDDING ROD*
Numbers 17:8:
“And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.”
Numbers Chapter 17 Explains The Following:
To stop the congregation of the children of Israel from murmuring, (which provoked the LORD to the point of eliminating those who did this) GOD chose Aaron’s rod to bud, symbolizing consecration and clarity. All 12 tribes of Israel gave Moses their rods and GOD chose only one to bud: Aaron’s. The congregation then realized that Aaron’s tribe was chosen for sacred matters. This killed off their presumptuous mindset of thinking that they could handle sacred matters pertaining to GOD’s holy tabernacle, which got many of them killed off by the LORD.
There was no need for GOD to keep killing off His people once they understood their place.
