Scripture Post #2,022: *A BROKEN SPIRIT*
Psalms 51:
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
If you’d like to sacrifice something to GOD — give Him your brokenness. Let your offering to Him be your heart — a contrite one.
“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” ~1st Samuel 15:22
God desires obedience over sacrifice. But if you’re going to sacrifice, let it be your contrite heart and your broken spirit.
