Scripture Post #1,990: *I KNOW ALL THE FOWLS*
Psalms 50:
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, andthe cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
Context:
Psalms 50:8: “I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.”
Verse 9: “I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.”
V. 10: “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”
V. 11: “I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.”
In the Old Testament, GOD’s people would offer animal-sacrifices to Him. This was done in obedience, honor and love. In this Passage of Scripture, GOD is saying, “I won’t correct you and tell you you’re wrong about not sacrificing animals to Me. I enjoy your offerings when you bring them. But I don’t need them: I own everything. And all animals belong to Me. There’s nothing you could ever give Me that I don’t own *already*.
