Scripture Post #1,942: *SIN’S DISCOMFORT*
Psalms 41:4:
“I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.”
David acknowledged that he needed mercy and healing for his soul because of his sin against GOD. He knew he was out of place; he wasn’t comfortable in his sin. There should be a certain discomfort, a feeling of *shame*, a sense of displacement when it comes to sin in the lives of those claiming to belong to the LORD.
Disobedience Breeds *Shame*:
“And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.” ~2nd Thessalonians 3:14.
Some Sins So *Shameful* They Ought Not Be Discussed:
“For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” ~Ephesians 5:12.
Reproof To The Point Of *Shame*:
“Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” ~1st Corinthians 15:34.
Being Transformed & Converted Former Sins Now Become *Shameful*:
“What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.” ~Romans 6:21.
