Scripture Post #1,937: *GOD’S REST*

 

Exodus 33:14: 

“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”

GOD gives rest. When rest is given from GOD, He goes to work for you—you’re resting, remember? We decrease and He increases. “He must increase, but I must decrease.” ~ John 3:30. GOD is empowered to work for us when we rest in Him. 

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” ~Matthew 11:28. 

After GOD told Moses that He’d go with him along his journey, Moses replied in the following verse: Ex. 33:15: “And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.” Basically, Moses said, “If You’re not with me, GOD, I don’t want to journey.” Moses didn’t want to detach himself from the GOD he served.
