Scripture Post #1,873: *10TH COMMANDMENT*

Exodus 20:17:

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's."

The final commandment is: Thou Shalt Not Covet. To desire what’s not yours is to be discontent in what you have. Humility comes with contentment. And the LORD absolutely enjoys a content heart. Be grateful for whatever you can call your own. Greed is godlessness.

1st Tim. 6:6: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”

V. 7: “For we brought nothing into thisworld, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”

V. 8: “And having food and raiment let us be therewith CONTENT.”

V. 9: “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

V. 10: “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some COVETED after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
