Scripture Post #1,761: *MORE WORK*

 

Exodus 5:9:

"Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words." 

It really upset Pharaoh when Moses and Aaron told him to free GOD's people from Egyptian-slavery. He was so infuriated, in fact, that he ordered *MORE WORK* for the Israelites to do. Before Moses and Aaron angered Pharaoh, the Egyptians would provide straw for the Israelites to make bricks with. ("Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves." ~Exodus 5:7.) But after Pharaoh got irritated, he made the Israelites fetch their own straw, on top of their other strenuous responsibilities.
