Scripture Post #1,705: *FATHER'S BURYING PLACE*

Genesis 47:30:

"But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said."

Israel was 130 years old when he first came to Egypt. He'd lived there 17 years and was now 147 and near death. He called his son Joseph in to see him. When Joseph arrived he had Joseph promise to have him buried at his *FATHER'S BURYING PLACE*, outside of Egypt. Israel wanted his body to rest where his ancestors rested.
