Scripture Post #1,644: *PRESUMPTUOUS SINS*
Psalms 19:13:
"Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression."
In this Psalm, David asks the LORD to keep him from *PRESUMPTUOUS SINS*. Sins of taking liberty into one's own hands with complete disregard for how one's actions affect GOD and others. Example: Assuming a parking space is yours because *you da stuff*, and taking it with no consideration for the others you share the road with. Another example: Being confidant that a sandwich in the refrigerator is yours, when in actuality it has someone else's name on it.
Never assume the right to *take* possession of something that could be *given* to someone else. "I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive."
~Acts 20:35.
Who are we to presume anything anyway? Humility should be what we're after, here.
