Scripture Post #1,559: *IMMENSE HATRED*

 

Genesis 27:41:

"And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob."

Genesis 27:41 (Easy-to-Read Version - ERV): "After that Esau hated Jacob because of this blessing. Esau said to himself, “My father will soon die, and after we are finished with that, I will kill Jacob.”

Anger precedes murder. This is why JESUS taught against this. Because hate is the step before murder. Esau allowed his feelings about being duped by his little brother to get in the way of their relationship. It was tarnished over hate. 

Matt. 5:21: "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:"

V. 22: "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
