Scripture Post #1,537: *20 YEAR WAIT*

 

Genesis 25:

24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 

25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 

26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 

Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah. (Gen. 25:20: "…Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife…") Rebekah was barren. (Gen. 25:21: "…Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren…") Isaac was 60 years of age when Rebekah gave birth to twin boys, Esau & Jacob. (Gen. 25:26: "…Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.") this means, Isaac and Rebekah waited 20 years for GOD to bless them with children! It was a *20 YEAR WAIT*!

We seem to want GOD to answer our prayers so very fast, at times. But are you willing to wait on GOD for 20 years? Will you patiently endure? Or will you give up because it seems as though GOD's not movin'?
