Scripture Post #1,487: *NOT AGAIN!*

Genesis 20:2:
"And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah."

In Genesis 12, Abraham's wife, Sarah, was sought after by a Pharaoh, for marriage. In Genesis 20, she was pursued for marriage yet again by another king, only this time Sarah was 90 years old! ("Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?" ~Genesis 17:17.) This speaks to Sarah's beauty. She was an extremely fair woman. And Abraham knew it: "And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:" ~Genesis 12:11. On both occasions, Abraham told these kings that Sarah was his sister. He did this for fear that these kings would murder him and take his wife had they known the truth.

If they would kill for Abraham's wife because of how beautiful she was, it comes as no surprise that they'd take his "sister" for her beauty. For that's even less of a hassle.
