Scripture Post #1,403: *40 DAYS & 40 NIGHTS*

Genesis 7:4: 

"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth."

GOD told Noah that in one week He would cause it to rain upon the earth, *40 DAYS & 40 NIGHTS*. Now of course, Noah had plenty of time prior to this one week's notice to build the ark. Can you imagine—rain, everywhere, continuously for 40 days straight?

We were made for GOD's good pleasure. How dare we do our own thing. Some may believe it's harsh to kill all living things and save only 8 humans and 2 of every kind of animal. What's harsh is how corrupt and evil this world was prior to the world-wide flood. Hybrid beings walked the earth. There was such a prevalence of evil spirits and perverse action which dominated the earth unlike anything this world has since seen. There was all evil all the time. And GOD put an end to it. 

"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." ~Genesis 6:5.
