Scripture Post #1,348: *FIRST LOVE*
Revelation 2:
4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

JESUS told John the Apostle to write to the Church of Ephesus of the 7 Churches found in the Book of Revelation. (JESUS said to the Apostle John: Rev. 2:1: "Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write…")
When we make the transition from worldliness to salvation, from darkness to light, from our will to His will, we must fall in love with our new position in CHRIST. It must become our *FIRST LOVE*!
Apparently, the Church of Ephesus lost sight of their first love and reverted back to sin and selfishness. JESUS reproved Ephesus in order to improve the Church. He called Ephesus to repentance when it left GOD, its first love. CHRIST's intent for reproof of Ephesus was to restore the relationship this particular Church had with GOD. And that's all we have to do if we lose sight of our first love: repent!
