Scripture Post #1,342: *CHRIST'S APPEARANCE*

Revelation 1:
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

The Apostle John had a supernatural encounter with CHRIST, and this is how he saw Him. (I John…was in the Spirit…And…I saw…in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. ~Rev. 1:9-15.)

We must recognize that JESUS CHRIST is described in a Spiritual, supernatural encounter here. Some like to use Rev. 1:14-15 as a Jesus-was-black-reference. Rev. 1:14-15 can't be used to reference CHRIST's hair as wool (much like that of Africans) or His feet being like brass (much like the color of a descendant of Africa). Why not? Because, if we use these 2 descriptions of John's encounter and exclude the rest of his encounter, our argument becomes biased and inconsistent.
CHRIST's voice is described as the sound of many waters. His hair is described as being white. When JESUS walked the earth, it may be likely that the texture of His hair was thick as wool and the color of His skin brown as brass. It is not likely, however, that every time CHRIST spoke, it sounded like many waters, and every time He opened His eyes (even as a baby) His iris was as a flame of fire. Jesus' hair wasn't described as being wooly, anyhow. When wool was mentioned, the color white was the point being made—that CHRIST had white hair in the Apostle John's supernatural encounter. Wool had absolutely nothing at all to do with texture in Rev. 1:14. Also, when brass was mentioned, it was mentioned as brass burned in a furnace. When fine metals reach high temperatures they appear super-bright. JESUS didn't walk the earth with super-bright skin.

JESUS went through supernatural-transfiguration:
Matt. 17:1: "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,"
Verse 2: "And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light."
His face shined bright in this supernatural experience, but CHRIST's face didn't shine this way all the time. Just like CHRIST didn't always have the features described in Rev. 1:14-15. JESUS can take on different appearances at times of the supernatural. It is important to understand the distinction from CHRIST's appearance in the supernatural vs. His appearance in the natural.

JESUS was a Jew. He was of Hebrew descent. Not all Hebrews look like Judge Judy; some are darker in complexion. However, we can't automatically call JESUS black based on Rev. 1:14-15
