Scripture Post #1,341: *LET THERE BE LIGHT*
Genesis 1:
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

GOD created earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh—the Sabbath. (Genesis 2:2: "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made."
Verse 3: "And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.") On day 1 of GOD's marvelous creation, He made light. He spoke light into existence. God made the distinction between light and darkness, calling the Light "Day" and the Darkness "Night." God saw that what He created was good—when GOD makes something, you know it's good!
