Revelation 1:5 is a verse within a chapter of verses which has a more significant meaning when the chapter is read in its entirety. But if we focus on a few key components of this verse, we'll see something truly special!

JESUS CHRIST loves us! And His love is much different than the love many are used to. His love is far greater than sibling-love, friendship-love, paternal-love, maternal-love, etcetera. His love is thoughtful to the point where He knows the number of hairs on your head. ("But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. " ~Luke 12:7.) His love is super-focused on you—He's mindful of you! ("What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?" ~Psalms 8:4.) He loves us so much that He died for us. Died and went to Hell so that we didn't have to. And rose 3 days later to bring us new life. When He died, He bled. He bled innocent blood. Precious blood worth more than gold. His blood paid for the punishment that we all deserved (eternity in Hell). His blood washed us from the dirtiness of all our sin. Hallelujah! ("…Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood," ~Revelation 1:5.) We're no longer filthy from sin-residue. CHRIST has come and cleansed all our unrighteousness. We are now clean!

Hebrews 9:22
Amplified Bible (AMP):
"In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment]."
