Scripture Post #1,259: *DEATH UNTO LIFE*

1st John 3:14: 

"We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death."

You can't even claim salvation if you don't love people. You're not born again if you don't love people. To pass from *DEATH UNTO LIFE* is to be born again. Born again means born spiritually. But one cannot be born spiritually without first dying spiritually. Our first birth was our natural birth; our physical birth. Once we accept JESUS as LORD, we become born a second time—born again. But in our first birth, we're dead to GOD (Adam *surely* died when he ate off of the forbidden tree, making us, his offspring, dead as well, spiritually). To pass from this spiritual-death unto spiritual-life we must love people. We must love our brethren. Otherwise, we haven't crossed over from death to life. Otherwise, we're not saved.
