Scripture Post #1,908: *THE LORD’S GOODNESS*

Psalms 37:

32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

David expresses *THE LORD’S GOODNESS*. David had people who wanted him dead. But He found GOD to be a protector against the wishes of his enemies. The LORD wouldn’t leave David in harms way. And when GOD judged David, he did not condemn him.

This shows the LORD’s goodness, mercy and grace — in THE OLD TESTAMENT of all places!! We know of GOD’s amazing grace in the New Testament. But the Old Testament is often associated with GOD’s harshness. So it speaks volumes to GOD’s consistency from the Old to the New Testament, when David says, “…Nor condemn him when he is judged.” GOD judges his people, but He does not condemn them.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” ~John 3:17
