Scripture Post #1,893: *I AM GRACIOUS*
Exodus 22:
25 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I amgracious.
GOD is gracious to hear the cry of the wronged and mistreated.
This is the law from GOD that Moses gave to the Israelites concerning lending.
Exodus 22:25-27 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV): “If you loan money to any of my people, that is, the poor among you, don’t be like a moneylender and charge them interest. (V. 26:) You might take their cloak to make sure they pay the money back, but you must give that cloak back to them before sunset. (V. 27:) That cloak might be their only protection against the cold when they lie down to sleep. If they call to me for help, I will listen because I am kind.”
