Scripture Post #1,870: *GOD WANTS YOU SUCCESSFUL!*
Psalms 35:27:
"Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."
Psalms 35 (a Psalm of David) is 28 verses long. It’s basically 26 verses of David expressing the mistreatment he’s received from others. 1 verse (Psalms 35:27) of him acknowledging those who are for him and how GOD takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant (servant being himself). And the final verse (Psalms 35:28) is David’s expression of praise unto the LORD.
After reading 26 verses of how David has been wronged by his enemies, we get to the 27th verse. Although there are 26 verses of pain from others, David states that he had people who wanted him to excel as well. And in David’s acknowledgement of these people who were in his corner, he let us in on something: *GOD WANTS YOU SUCCESSFUL!* It actually pleases the LORD when we’re prospering.
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” ~3rd John 1:2
