Scripture Post #1,807: *PASSOVER*

Exodus 12:13:

"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."

"Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:" 

~Exodus 12:5.

"And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it." 

~Exodus 12:7. 

"For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD." 

~Exodus 12:12. 

GOD sought to kill all firstborns within Egypt's vicinity (men, women, children and animals). And every home that was covered with the blood of a lamb, GOD literally passed over (skipped). Hence: *PASSOVER*. And not just any lamb. The lamb was to be a blemish-free, spotless, young male. 

Just as death passed over GOD's people by the blood of lambs thousands of years ago, spiritual death (eternal damnation) passes over all of GOD's children by the blood of the Lamb Who was slain on the cross (JESUS CHRIST)!!!
