Scripture Post #1,171: *SUCH AS I*

Acts 26:29:

"And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds."

The Apostle Paul being on trial and in bonds, desired for those he testified before, to be Christians like he was. We should want everyone saved. We certainly should. We shouldn't condone sin, or sinful behavior. We shouldn't love the world or befriend the world. But we should desire for sinners to become Saints. We don't love the world; we love the people in the world. We don't love sin; we love sinners. And we desire them saved. 

1st John 2:15: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

James 4:4: "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
