Scripture Post #1,121: *NOT MOVED*

Acts 20:

22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

The Apostle Paul didn't know what he'd face on his journey (verse 22: "…not knowing the things that shall befall me…"). He knew from the HOLY GHOST "…that bonds and afflictions…" would be his fate (verse 23). But he was *NOT MOVED* by any of these things (verse 24)! He didn't care about his life. His life wasn't important to him. The ministry of JESUS CHRIST was more important to Paul than his own life or the trouble he faced! It's not about us; it's about JESUS. Our lives mean nothing. It's only when CHRIST enters the pic that our nothing is made something.

CHRIST said: "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his *own life* also, he cannot be my disciple." ~ Luke 14:26 [asterisks added for emphasis].
