Scripture Post #1,089: *JESUS, STRANGE?*

Acts 17:18
"Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection."

JESUS seems strange when you know little about HIM. And the world'll think you're peculiar for worshipping HIM. But that's okay; the Bible says this about us also. ("…Ye are a peculiar people…" ~ 1 Peter 2:9.) The world (those unsaved) sense a certain peculiarity when it comes to the Gospel. It's like this today. As how it's been since the early Apostle's time. Paul preached JESUS to the world and the world called JESUS a "strange god". This is why I don't get all too upset when the world mocks Christianity. For it is easy to make fun of what's not understood.

The funny thing is: what's really strange is to not believe in GOD. To not believe that we are here today because GOD created man. To not believe that we are in need of CHRIST's crucifixion for our sins—sins that resonate in all of mankind, irrefutably. To not believe in GOD, when it's clear the whole earth is full of HIS glory. ("And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory." ~ Isaiah 6:3.) To worship anything else, now that's strange.
