This is amazing. In the context we can see how Peter was led out of prison by the power of GOD. And he went to the Saint's house where they were praying for his rescue. He knocks on the door to basically inform them that their prayers have been answered. And they don't believe it's him! They prayed to GOD hard and long, hoping for Peter's return. And when he returned they thought it was Peter's Angel at the door, and not Peter at the door. So they had enough belief, enough faith to believe that a real live Angel was there at the door, but not enough faith to believe that the true and living GOD had answered the very thing they were praying for. That amazes me! They had *MISGUIDED BELIEF*. There are folks with misguided belief today: They don't believe that GOD created the Heaven and earth; they'd rather believe that creation came from a "Big Bang". They don't believe GOD created man and woman; they believe man evolved from monkeys (really, now? 😑). They make fun of us for believing in CHRIST while their belief is far fetched beyond belief—literally. People believe in crazy misguided lies constantly. So if you can believe in something that's far fetched, why don't you believe in the power of GOD?
Context:
Acts 12:12: "And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying."
V. 13: "And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda."
V. 14: "And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate."
V. 15: "And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel."
V. 16: "But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished."
V. 17: "But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place."
