Scripture Post #981: *SUFFER FOR HIS NAME*
Acts 5:
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

When it comes down to serious devotion to the LORD, the question isn't, "Will you ask JESUS into your heart?" Or, "Will you where a 'I ❤JESUS' shirt?" The question is: "Will you *SUFFER FOR HIS NAME* if push comes to shove? The Apostles in the Book of Acts were "…rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name." And after being beaten, after being imprisoned, "…daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." That's the measure of true devotion.
